Within Mozambique, you can visit the popular coastal resort of Xai Xai, enjoy the bustling vibes of the capital Maputo, visit the islands and go diving. From the north of the Kruger Park you can even head into Botswana, to the famed Tuli Block -you’re practically guaranteed of seeing elephants here. Enjoy the beautiful drives along the Limpopo River - through ancient leadwoods, mashatus, fever trees and sycamore figs – and an expedition to the confluence of the Shashe and the Limpopo rivers, where Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana meet.
-
One of the highlights of Swaziland is the Ezulwini Valley, the place the Swazi’s call the “valley of heaven”. Part of the valley is Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, founded in 1964 and home to hippos, crocodiles, giraffe and many antelope species. See San rock art paintings, hike to the historic Executioner’s Rock or visit the local arts and crafts shops, with evocative names like House of Fire, Baobab Batik and Gone Rural. You can also arrange day trips to the nearby Hlane Royal National Park and Mkhaya Game Reserve. At the centre of the Ezulwini Valley is the royal Swazi residence, Lobamba, where the ritual Reed Dance is performed every August.
