Business tourism is not the same as business travel.
Business tourism comprises a trip undertaken for the purpose of attending a conference, meeting, exhibition or event, or as part of an incentive.
Business travel, by contrast, is conducted by individual businesses, which is more difficult to track and to market in a targeted fashion.
Business tourists as a category tend to be more worldly and well-travelled than the norm, and thus more interested in new experiences. South Africa is a place where the business tourist can gain a completely new perspective on doing business. It is a country that has a rich heritage of African traditions which can be directly related to business methodologies worldwide. In terms of international business strategy and cutting-edge management methodologies, South Africa provides an insightful case study for entrepreneurial leaders.
The South African Business Tourism team is a motivated group of people who are completely focussed on increasing business tourism to South Africa. We will provide you with any assistance you may need in planning, organising and managing your business travel meetings, conferences, incentives and exhibitions.
However, we do not actually organise any of these activities. Instead we will assist you in finding appropriate convention bureaus (CVBs) and suppliers.
To get you started you may want to have a look at the list of
Meetings industry contacts and
Incentives and Leisure industry contacts that we have compiled for you.
