Johannesburg - Nylsvlei - Makapan's caves - Rhino Museum - Mapungubwe - Thulamela and Masorini in the Kruger Park
Day 1: Fly to Johannesburg International Airport and Drive along the N1 North to the birding paradise of Nylsvley which is a unique nyl floodpain and a principal wetland (Ramsar site), protected for its prolific and largest variety of water birds in the southern hemisphere. Proceed to Makapans's caves, a national and World Heritage site and explore the most notable archaeological and historic sites in the country. Overnight at a game lodge in the Waterberg.
Day 2: Early morning game drive, followed by breakfast and proceed to Mapungubwe, a mountain of mystique and the first iron age kingdom that recalls a rich history of ancient civilization where an abundance of ancient gold artifacts were found. Mapungubwe is one of the most important sites for palaentological research in South Africa and was recently declared as one of the National Orders in South Africa and a World Heritage site. Overnight at a Lodge.
Day 3: The tour proceed eastwards toward the world's renown Kruger National Park via Sagole spa where you will explore the tropical African tree and the undisputed king of the Savannah trees of Africa- the largest baobab tree (Adansonia Digitata) in the country. It is commonly known as the "Big Tree" and is over 3 000 years old with a girth of 43 meters. Almost every part of the tree is useful to man. Proceed to Thathe Vondo holy forest and sacred Lake Fundudzi in which according to ancient legends, lives a giant python (i.e.god of fertility). The python is said to demand the sacrifice of a maiden each year. Lunch will be served at Makhado Town and drive back to Johannesburg.
